N2 - Due to the ideal correlation properties of complementary codes, a code division multiple access (CDMA) communication system using complementary codes as its signature codes can offer multiple access and multi-path interferences resistant performance. Compared to the other complementary codes, I/Q column-wise complementary (IQCC) codes can support much more users with a given flock size, and at the same time it can still maintain perfect correlation properties via quadrature phase-shift keying (QPSK) spreading scheme. In this paper, we analyze the downlink bit error rate (BER) performance of an IQCC-based CDMA communication system. Utilizing the derived BER expression, we demonstrate the multiple access and multi-path interferences resistant performance of the system under both flat and frequency-selective fading channels.
