Abstract

The hyperboloid of revolution of one sheet is the most important skew surface for engineering applications. Based on curvature theory of ruled surface, differential geometry, and coordinate transformation, we study the geometric characteristics, including principal curvatures, principal directions, parameter of distribution, and curvature functions, of this hyperboloid.
