Abstract

Based on the new partial hybrid stress model proposed by the author, the corresponding limitation principles are formulated. The relations between the limitation principles for finite element models, based on the present variational principle and the (two-field) Hellinger-Reissner principle and (single-field) principle of total potential energy, are presented. It is found that, under certain circumstances, the results will be identical to those from the mixed finite element or displacement finite element.
