One-Dimensional Position Measurement for Large-Gap Magnetic Suspension System

This paper presents a one-dimensional position measurement for a suspended object in a large-gap magnetic suspension system which allows wider range of control. The position measurement system uses a linear photo sensor array to detect the position of the suspended object. The proposed measurement is simple, effective, and less expensive than other methods in large-gap magnetic suspension systems.
