Abstract

This paper presents a novel optimal digital redesign technique for finding an optimal dynamic digital control law from the available analogue counterpart for digital control of a continuous-time plant with a nonideal sampler and zero-order hold and cascaded dynamic reference inputs. The resulting states of the digitally redesigned sampled-data system are able to optimally match those of the original analogously controlled continuous-time-system. An illustrative example is presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method and to show the realistic results obtained using the nonideal sampler and zero-order hold.
