Optimal servodesign of the SISO estimator-based control system

An optimal servodesign for single-input-single-output systems by the frequency-domain approach is suggested. The servomechanism is estimator-based controlled with feedforward of the reference input, which provides an additional design freedom for the improvement (optimization) of the transient response. The cost function to be minimized is the integral-squared tracking error. The suggested design procedure requires the residue evaluations and n + 1 dimensional matrix operations for an nth-order plant. It theoretically provides a noniterative approach to the exact solution of the optimal design problem without any iterative approximation algorithm.
