Output regulation of nonlinear PDE systems

Abstract

This work addresses the output regulation of flow systems described by a class of nonlinear partial differential equation (NPDE) systems. The main design procedure is to determine the number and position of actuators such that the desired state trajectory at the boundary point can be manipulated. The positions of sensors depend on the discretization point as well as the necessity of being near to the boundary of processes. Through simulations, the method is shown to be robust and effective in controlling an exothermic plug-flow reactor for realistic situations.
