Abstract
Using 18O as a tracer, isotope exchange reaction was performed to determine the oxygen diffusion coefficients of Y0.8Ta0.2O1.7, Y3TaO7 and Ho3TaO7 over the temperature range 550-800°C. The diffusion coefficient in Y0.8Ta0.2O1.7 was comparable to that in Ca-stabilized ZrO2. However, the diffusion coefficient in Y3TaO7 and Ho3TaO7 was several orders of magnitude lower than that in Y0.8Ta0.2O1.7 and was in the same order as the data in Y2O3. These results were discussed in terms of crystal structures of these compounds.
