Abstract

This study applies persuasive technology and case based reasoning to facilitate product design leading to happy, healthy and sustainable lifestyle. The proposed design aid focuses on products that require bodily movement in use phase. Concepts of case based reasoning including setting domain model, retrieving, and reusing cases are used while methods of persuasive technology are modified for building a domain model and persuading people to more bodily movement. Cases of product design that include desired elements like fun, happiness, exercise, rehabilitation, or energy harvesting are collected. Designers could get useful suggestion of design principles, design patterns, and applicable ICT in conceptual design stage by inputting intended body movement and behavior flavors.
