The solubility in the system SrF//2-LaF//3 were studied by solid state reaction (1400 degree , 1300 degree , 1000 degree and 750 degree C) using Pt capsule and hydrothermal reaction (750 degree , 650 degree and 500 degree C) using the 10 wt% LiCl or other solutions. Starting samples were (1) mixed and (2) fired samples of SrF//2 and LaF//3 powders (99. 9%). At any temperature, a linear relation between the composition and the lattice parameter of the solid solutions of each phase (SrF//2s. s. or LaF//3s. s. ) could be obtained corresponding to the Vegard's law. The solubility limits in SrF//2s. s. were 48, 48, 47, 47 and 46 mol% LaF//3, and those in LaF//3s. s. were 15, 10, 6, 4 and 2 mol% SrF//2 (all deviation; plus or minus 1 mol%) at 1400 degree , 1000 degree , 750 degree , 650//20 and 500 degree C respectively by X-ray measurements.
