Poloidal magnetic field dependence of the edge electric field layer width in the H mode in tokamaks

Abstract

It is shown that when the complete effects of orbit squeezing are taken into account, the width of the edge radial electric field layer in the H mode as estimated from the ion orbit loss model does not depend explicitly on the poloidal magnetic field.
