This work has been complied from a series of studies sponsored by research grants in consecutive years from Taiwan's National Science Council (#NSC89 2216 E006 014). The many references and their contents (other than the authors' own work) that are used in this review have also been properly cited and identified.

N2 - The alpha,beta-crystals in polystyrene were studied. The thermal behavior, crystal structures, thermodynamics, kinetics and stability of these two major crystal packings upon melt crystallization was compared with those behaviors upon cold crystallization. Melting behavior, diffractograms as well as infrared spectra of the samples were analyzed.
