Position Smoothing Based on Quadratic Bezier Curves Algorithm on Capacitive Touch Panels

Abstract

This work presents a new smooth tracking method for a capacitive touch panel (CTP) system. The smooth method is based on quadratic Bezier curves algorithm which can accurately track the trajectories of the raw data of the touch panel. The proposed method is capable of reducing the zigzag trajectory from raw data and shorten the tracking delay distance. Experimental results indicate that the proposed quadratic Bezier curves method successfully smooth the touch trajectories without trajectories delay compared with the trajectories of the moving average filter method and the Kalman filter method.
