Abstract

The theoretical predictions, which are conducted by the first-principles calculations and the phenomenological models, are available in understanding the fundamental physicochemical properties of Germanene-related materials, especially for the geometric, electronic, optical, and transport properties. This chapter covers potential applications of Germanene and its related materials in Li-ion batteries, solar-cells, gas sensors, semiconductor devices, and optoelectronic detectors. These promising applications indicate that Germanene is one of the potential materials in the nanomaterials industry.
