Quality-based survivability in dual-failure network

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contribution

Abstract

We propose a scheme to support differentiated levels of survivability assurances for prioritized demands in a WDM network that utilizes shared p-cycles as the basic protection method. This mechanism applies proportional spare capacity allocation to protect the working traffic with different classes under dual failures. QoS enabled protection proposal includes two main stages: shared p-cycle assignment and prioritized spare capacity allocation. Simulation results show efficacy of the proposed scheme ensuring differentiated survivability.
