Quantum enhancement of chaos in kicked double-well system

Abstract

In this paper, we examine the dynamical effect of quantum fluctuations in chaotic motion. We take a kicked double-well potential system as an example. The result shows that quantum fluctuations can enhance chaotic motion. This phenomenum is very much different from the understanding of quantum effects in the kicked rotor system, where quantum fluctuations suppress chaos.
