Abstract
In this paper, a resource-allocation strategy in an integrated voice/data cellular CDMA network is presented and analyzed. The delay-sensitive voice service is considered to have higher priority to use the channel resource, while the error-sensitive data traffic has higher priority to use the power resource. The concept of guard channel is used to improve service reliability. Three power resource allocation schemes are adopted and compared: equal power scheme, equal service-reliability scheme, and robust data scheme. Moreover, the effect of the data packet length is also investigated.
