Abstract

This paper proposes a new dynamic element matching technique, named "Random Incrementing Data Weighted Averaging (RIDWA)". It can achieve both sequential selection and randomization properties with very low-cost implementation and high operation speed. The two properties of RIDWA make it able to obtain both high spurious-free dynamic ranges and low maximum output errors if RIDWA is used with proper layout switching schemes.
