Abstract

This paper presents an Infrared (IR) image interface circuit on FPGA. By using the Non-Uniform Correction (NUC), the process variation in the IR sensor could be cancelled. With the Histogram Equalization (HE), the distribution of the pixels is extended to the range of the full color ramp such that the contrast of the image could be improved. Besides, the ping-pong processing with 2 SRAMs is proposed for the real-time operation. The experiment is executed on DE2-115 FPGA board with the gate count of 12758. Based on the experiment results, the quality of the image is improved.
