Abstract

A position measurement method using CCD cameras is presented in large gap magnetic suspension application. A real time circuit hardware is designed to scan white dots on strong contrast of black suspended model to convert pulse signal corresponding into their relative positions. The attitude data of the suspended model is generated by ″ROM-mapping″ method. Circuit hardware is designed and implemented to accomplish the proposed objective with efficient process. The proposed real time measurement system does not only detect position and attitude of the magnetic suspended model, but also feedback these signals to personal computer for real time magnetic suspension control. System analysis and test results are presented in this paper.
