N2 - Channel quality indicator (CQI) is essential for the transmitter to select the proper modulation and coding scheme (MCS). However, the feedback of the CQI also decreases the spectrum efficiency. In this paper, we propose a reduced CQI feedback signaling for the multi-stream downlink multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system. In addition, power loading algorithms are applied to further increase the throughput of the system. The proposed scheme decreases the overhead of the CQI feedback remarkably, while achieves good throughput performance.
