Role of surface plasmon in the optical chirality of conjugated gammadion and Z-shaped metamaterials

Abstract

Strong optical chirality exists at the FSS bandedge in both plasmonic and nonplasmonic conjugated Z-shape structures. However, only plasmonic congujated gammadion structure exhibits chirality. The origin of chirality is explained by Lagrange-Jones model and FDTD.
