Abstract

The synthesis of diluted magnetic semiconductor (DMS) Zn 1-xCoxO nanorods was analyzed using the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method. Investigations show that the nanorod possessed the single-crystalline wurtzite structure. The transparence effect of Zn 1-xCoxO nanorods was examined by the ultraviolet(UV)- visible absorption. It was concluded that the spintronic nanodevices were made from the well-aligned ZnO-based DMS by combining the optical properties with the room-temperature ferromagnetism.
