Abstract
The fundamental protocol and its enhanced version for password authentication protection proposed by Kwon and Song were reviewed. It was shown that the enhanced version of the generalized key agreement and password authentication protocol was insecure against off-line password guessing attacks. The results were based on cryptanalysis and numerical processing involving random numbers.
