N2 - This paper presents the design of simplex-type fuzzy sliding-mode control (SFSMC) for a linear multivariable system. Two fuzzy controllers are proposed, one is the fuzzy singleton vector control and the other one is the fuzzy term-set vector control. The control rules of these two SFSMCs are derived from the simplex sliding-mode control scheme and the fuzzy decision logic. A helicopter control system is used to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed controllers.
