Abstract

This work presents a new pixel circuit based on low-temperature polycrystalline silicon (LTPS) thin-film transistors (TFTs) for use in high-resolution active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) displays. The proposed circuit with the simultaneous emission driving scheme increases the compensation time for accurate detection of variations, successfully compensating for threshold voltage (VTH) variations of the driving TFT and I-R voltage drop in power lines. Simulation results reveal that relative current error rates are below 4.45% and 3.06%, respectively, as variations in VTH are ±0.5 V and the deviation from VDD is 0.5 V, confirming that the proposed circuit has the potential to be used in high-resolution AMOLED displays.
