Abstract
In studies of flow through porous media by numerical techniques, singularities are encountered often. The analyst sometimes can ignore their existence with good results, but in general care must be taken to insure that numerical error caused by the singularities does not spoil the solution. This paper considers the effect of singularities in the analysis of flow around a cutoff wall, interzonal flow and the case of sources and sinks in the medium.
