Abstract

The hydrostatic pressure effect on the emf of the Chromel/Alumel thermocouple has been found to be very small between 4.2 and 300 K up to 22 kilobar. This makes the Chromel/Alumel thermocouple the best temperature sensor yet for high-pressure and low-temperature study.
