Abstract

A sulfonyl free radical induced addition-cyclization of 5-heteroarylpent-1-enes is described. p-Toluenesulfonyl radical was generated from sodium p-toluenesulfinate. Furan, indole, pyrrole and thiophene ring systems were studied.
