note = "Funding Information: School of Dentistry, Kaohsiung Medical University, celebrates its diamond anniversary (August 2017). Sixty years ago, the School of Dentistry is the first institution providing dental education in the south of Taiwan. The School has offered the Bachelor of Dentist degree since the establishment of the School. In addition, post-graduate study leading to Master of Science (MS) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees were initiated in 1985 and 1990, respectively. Based on the successful achievement in the development and promotion of Medical Device, Ministry of Education supported the special grant tso establish the PhD program in the field of Medical Device. To date, we have more than 4500 students graduated from School of Dentistry, and most of the graduates have successful careers, either domestically or overseas in clinical practice, research institutes and academia. Recently, in order to show their gratitude to the department, the alumni have established an educational endowment foundation to facilitate teaching and research related activities of the department.",
