Abstract
This paper employs singular H∞ control to design a robust speed controller for permanent magnet synchronous motors, in which the design mainly considers the effects of parameter variations and disturbances. The performance is evaluated by a DSP based setup for real-time control. Experimental results show that the feedback design using H∞ control is robust against load disturbances and motor parameter variations.
