Abstract
This paper is concerned with three classes of spectral factorizations appearing in continuous-time H2/H∞ optimal controls. A unified procedure which employs coprime factorization to find certain coprime factors is developed for computing spectral factors. The derivations are performed in terms of transfer function matrices which have merits in its simple and straightforward development; however, the associated state-space algorithms are given for the ease of computations. The extension of this method to the case of strictly proper transfer matrices is also studied.
