Abstract
A bioreactor equipped with a recirculation loop was used to investigate the fermentation for L-lysine production. The broth was pumped from the bottom of the fermenter and fed back to the top. With the recirculation stream, antifoam was not required as the fermentation proceeded and the proposed system significantly improved the productivity for L-lysine fermentation.
