N2 - This paper attempts to calculate the dominant wavelength by means of spectral analysis on 21 main rivers and their tributaries in Taiwan. By using regressive analysis, we try to find out these functional relationship between each two of river discharges, basin areas and dominant wavelengths, respectively. Besides we further explore the effects of the hydraulic and physiographic factors to river planform. At the same time, we also understand the differences which choose data between the direction and the direction change of the river. From this result, it shows that the amplitude of river will tend to increase from upstream to downstream. Finally the data of this research are compared with the theoretical values from the past papers. (Authors)
