Abstract
The design and implementation of DSP-based digital controlled single-phase photovoltaic energy conversion system connected with utility is presented in this paper. With photovoltaic array, the inverter converts DC power to utility line and supports the load need. The digital photovoltaic energy conversion system can transfer the power to the utility with low harmonic distortion and unity power factor. The proposed photovoltaic energy conversion system is constructed by single stage to increase the efficiency of the system. It also provides several functions such as maximum power point tracking, over/under voltage protection in DC bus, output over current protection of the inverter, soft start, detection of islanding operation, and stand-alone operation. The controller of the system is implemented with a 16-bit digital signal processor TMS320F240. Finally, a 1 kVA experimental prototype is built to demonstrate the performance of the proposed technique.
