This paper presents available methods for the synthesis of planar four-bar linkages with two-cusp coupler curves and satisfying additional conditions. For the synthesis of the adjustable path generator with two cusps, path generator with two cusps and one precision point, and motion generator with three coupler positions, analytical methods are proposed to solve the design problems. For the synthesis of path generator with two cusps and two or three precision points, the design equations are derived and solved by the Newton-Raphson method.
