Synchronous detection method for three-phase three-wire systems in reactive and harmonic power compensation

Abstract

A modification of the Current Synchronous Detection (CSD) method in reactive and harmonic power compensation, originally intended for four-wire systems, has been developed for three-phase three-wire systems. This method makes it possible to also change the phase angle between the basic harmonics of the line voltages and currents. Particularly in the case of unsymmetrical line voltage systems, this modification of the CSD method yields better results than does use of the Instantaneous Reactive Power theory.
