Abstract
Polytitanocarbosilane (PTC) was synthesized from polydimethylsilane and titanium tetrabutoxide, with α-azobis-iso-butyronitride as initiator, in a mixture of benzene and trimethylbenzene (1:1). An SiTiCO compound was produced from PTC by heat treatment in nitrogen atmosphere. The IR spectra were used to investigate the bonding structure of PTC at various temperatures. Thermal stability of the SiTiCO was also investigated.
