Abstract
Using the configuration-interaction approach, we calculate the oxygen 1s core-level photoemission spectra for various values of interaction strengths representing different metal-oxide systems. The calculated spectra reveal that several weak-intensity features may exist on the higher binding-energy side of the main peak in many cases. These features are interpreted with reference to the existing experimental observations from different metal-oxide systems.
