A systematic study of the mixed-state thermopower in Tl2Ba2CaCu2O8+δ indicates a that there are two contributions to the total signal. The largest contribution is accurately proportional to the resistivity, as previously reported. We have also identified a new, additional contribution to the thermopower. The source of the excess thermopower is not presently determined, and may be related to vortex fluctuations or d-wave superconductivity.
