Tandem alchemy: Crafting iso-olefins from carbon dioxide

Research output: Contribution to journalComment/debatepeer-review

Abstract

In the February issue of Cell Reports Physical Science, Deng and co-workers showcase a dual-bed catalysis system converting CO2 and H2 into C4-C7 iso-olefins. Utilizing K-Fe2O3 in the upper bed and Si/Al xerogel in the lower bed, this setup streamlines the reverse water-gas shift reaction, Fischer-Tropsch synthesis, and isomerization in a one-pot process.
