The 7-91+g and 41Πg states of K2 by optical-optical double resonance spectroscopy

Using a homemade ultrasensitive space charge limited ion detector, the K2 singlet gerade states (7-91+g and 41Πg) were observed for the first time. The exotic potential of the double minimum 71+g state was constructed using a hybrid approximation method. The molecular constants and the Rydberg-Klein-Rees (RKR) potential curve for the 91+g state were obtained. The 81+g and 41Πg states were partially characterized.
