Abstract

Cultural and Creative Products are now one of the most popular industries. The products of material goods were more and more diverse. The materials of ceramic are also one of a common material for Cultural and Creative Products. However, it takes a long time for manufacturing process. This instability cause excessive defective products production, which is increasing cost of productivity. The shrinkage ratio of ceramics in shape and size of product is an important factor, the uneven proportion of distribution of the shrinkage result in the produce of defectiveness in crack and so on. In this paper, the firing shrinkage ratio of ceramics will be discussed. The different thickness and including four length and width was selected into for quantitative comparison. And then, every detail of the manufacturing process was recorded. Thecaliper vernier was adopted to measure the size of the embryo of ceramics and ceramics firing as well as shrinkage ratio of ceramics was calculated to get firing shrinkage information. It will get the relationship between the shrinkage of different lengths and thicknesses. And then, we used t test to analyze the shrinkage of different thicknesses and length, at the same time, also adopted ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) to test the difference between the amount of shrinkage of different length and thickness. The study results will benefit to reduce manufacturing costs and the quality control of the firing of ceramic products. And then, it can be usedsaving the firing of ceramic costs and applied to create a breakthroughof Cultural & Creative Products.
