Abstract
The biomechanical effect of the pedicle screw length was studied by realistic three-dimensional finite element simulations. It was found that the major loading mode of the screw bending and the peak stress region occurred right before the first thread. The results indicated that with sufficient screw length, the lengthen of screw was not an important biomechanical factor when subject to bending load.
