Abstract

The synthesis and characterization of a novel mixed-valence MnGaPO phase is described; the 3D open-framework consists of discrete bioctahedra of Ga2O10(H2O) and GaO5 trigonal bipyramids, connected via Mn(III)O4, Mn(II)O4 and PO4 tetrahedra to generate intersecting tunnels within which piperazinium cations reside.
