Abstract

This research developed an BIM-based system to monitor and visualize the real-time building information. Focusing on building in-use stages, advantages in tracking the micro-climate should be derived through the availability of real-time information. In this way, as-delivered physical assets (monitored and visualized in real-time) could be established to explore how BIM and IOT could improve a data-driven management. The integrated system called SyncBIM is developed based on 5 characteristics: (1) BIM environment to support decision making, (2) Object-oriented design for services embedded, (3) Dynamic DB based on real-time monitoring, (4) Mapping data-driven visualized results, and (5) Context awareness and system operation. In this research we use air quality (PM 2.5) to be an example parameter to demonstrate our SyncBIM system.
