Abstract

The Sustainable Campus Plan is to help students explore environmental knowledge at any corner of campus through mobile digital devices. This research focuses on the development of optimal mobile learning network through the technologies of augmented reality and radio frequency identification. With the services of personal information flow and multi-layer 3D display, the network can easily help students to explore knowledge concealed behind the real environment. This research takes the "reclaimed water information system" on campus as practical example. In consideration of different environmental contexts, we create "regional scanning platform", "local observation platform", and "terminal review platform" in the system. Each platform can function individually or cooperatively. Through Heuristic Evaluation taken by professors, the reclaimed water information system is demonstrated to have high usability in every evaluation item. The paper provides a practical solution to construct a mobile learning network in the sustainable campus.
