The principles of construction of the Deidou frame, including their components and joints are discussed to find out the structural characteristics of the framing system. It is found that the deformation resistance strength in-plane is bigger than the strength out-plane and is the main characteristic of the whole framing system. The major horizontal structural components in the whole framing system can be regarded as simple support beams. It is concluded that the arms of each bracket-system has cantilever function to support purlin, so as to strengthen the stability of the whole frame.
