Abstract

The superconducting transition temperature TC of the tetragonal phase of a Nb3Sn single crystal was determined calorimetrically to be 17.78±0.02 K. It is suppressed by the application of hydrostatic pressure at a rate of -(1.40±0.05)×10-5 K bar-1. The previous observations of double superconducting transitions in Nb3Sn and other A15 compounds are discussed.
