Abstract

The statistical mechanics of DNA denaturation is studied with the Morse potential. We point out that the results of Peyrard and Bishop do not correctly reflect the statistics relation (y²) ≥ (y)², at the region of delocalized states, for the DNA interstrand separation y. The correct results are given.
